For this sounds so alike the distinct vocals of Wild Beasts’ Hayden Thorpe, you almost deem ‘Echo’ to be a crass paying of respect to their contemporaries. But the Oxford band prove their strengths as the song develops. Indeed, luscious textures and deft touches are another speciality of Kendal’s finest, but Wild Swim’s latest single makes a soft sound even more tender to the touch. “Don’t fade, echo”, goes the mantra. Fade? Everything within sight melts in this song’s presence.
